Robyn Jackson
Robyn Jackson, an Australian artist living on the Mid North Coast, captures the beauty of the natural habitat through vibrant and expressive paintings. With a Bachelor of Education in Textiles and Design, she now works full-time as an artist.
Robyn’s exhibition runs 3 weeks from Wednesday 1st October to Sunday 19th October at the beautiful Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery, Gladstone, NSW and is open daily 10.30 to 4pm.
Robyn’s work evokes a sense of place and emotion. “My Sense of Place" refers to the emotional connection and attachment I feel towards my local bush and beaches, encompassing feelings of belonging, identity, and familiarity. It's about how I experience and perceive my place, and how it shapes my identity as an artist and my understanding of the world.”
“When walking my Kelpie Max daily, I am surrounded by a wealth of natural beauty both on our bush block, our local beaches and my garden, all inspirations close to my heart which create connections that I feel compelled to paint and share..”
“I am also hooked on the Silk Painting process which is essentially a drawing outlined with a rubber gutta followed by endless array of beautiful watercolour dyes. I am inspired by the vibrant colours and fluidity of dye on silk. “Like Margaret Olly, I am a colourist and with this exhibition, I have tried to make the ordinary, extraordinary.” I have also dabbled in oils for this exhibition.
As a multi award winning artist, Robyn exhibits regularly at Gladstone Community Art Gallery, Glasshouse Regional Gallery, The Slim Dusty Nulla Gallery, Nexus Gallery, The Artspace, Urunga, South West Rocks Community Art Gallery and Dorrigo Rainforest Art Gallery.
Robyn’s art consistently elicits an emotional response, leaving viewers feeling happy and uplifted. Robyn regularly holds Silk Painting classes and opens her home gallery by appointment.
