"Trees And Things That Please"

This exhibition displays my recent creations including ceramics and paintings. I like to combine traditional technique and the instinct to be playful.

My work expresses a balance of the way we see the natural world but also how we understand our own nature in the world.

Learning a new skill of pottery has given me opportunity to experiment and practice new skills. My series of "Favourite Mugs", for example, is a playful way of questioning why we need to attempt to make all things to a set standard when a collection of the everyday mug can be unique and individual. Like the way we expect standards of ourselves when we too are unique and individual.
